Pregnancy Scans
The primary aim and purpose of all our pregnancy related ultrasound scans is the well-being of both mother and baby.
Available Pregnancy Scans
An appropriate well-being report related to your stage of pregnancy will be created and discussed with you at the time of the scan. It is recommended that you present such findings to your appropriate healthcare provider where necessary.
All our ultrasound scans are undertaken by a qualified and registered Diagnostic Radiographer Sonographer with many years of diagnostic scanning experience working within both the NHS and private healthcare setting.

This Early Pregnancy Scan is offered from 6 weeks gestational age however we advise booking this scan from 7 weeks gestational age (if possible) to allow for maximum scan detail and information. This scan is designed to give reassurance and peace of mind where possible. This scan will look for and examine the location and viability of pregnancy as well as the possibility of multiple pregnancies. This scan will establish an Estimated Due Date (EDD) and where possible allow you to see your baby’s heart beating for the first time. This scan will also assess for ectopic pregnancy or to determine any concerning symptoms, such as bleeding if present. The general health of the womb and ovaries will also be assessed.
After the scan you will have the opportunity to ask the Sonographer any questions you might have. We are not restricted by a short appointment time and this is to help ensure we can fully support you no matter the outcome of your scan.
You will receive printed images (black & white) to take home and you will also have same day access to all your digital images, video clips (where possible) and report online.
Depending on the stage of your pregnancy, we may undertake an internal transvaginal ultrasound examination (with your consent) for further assessment. Up to two guests are welcome to accompany you for this scan but as it’s an early pregnancy scan we recommend you do not bring children due to its sensitive nature.
Please ensure you have taken a positive pregnancy test before booking this scan and present to your appointment with a full bladder.
This scan is for people over the age of 18 years old only.

This Gender Scan is designed to provide a professional opinion about the sex of your baby. It can also be undertaken as a gender reveal scan if preferred. This scan is available from 16 to 30 weeks and includes a well-being check of baby. A well-being check at this stage of pregnancy includes identification and demonstration of your baby’s heartbeat and movement where possible, head circumference measurement, assessment of placenta position and amniotic fluid levels.
We will undertake a head circumference measurement to determine gestational age (GA). If our measurements determine that your baby is under 16weeks GA we may not be able to perform the Gender Scan and will have to rearrange accordingly. Please note that ultrasound alone can never provide a 100% guarantee of a baby’s sex. While we will always do our best, we cannot always guarantee that we will be able to determine the baby’s sex. This can be affected by many factors such as baby’s position, placenta position, maternal BMI, fluid levels, previous abdominal scarring and others. Please keep this in mind when arranging any gender reveal plans so as to avoid disappointment.
If baby is presenting in a suitable position, we will offer you the chance to see baby in 3D and 4D. You will receive printed images (black & white) to take home and you will also have same day access to all your digital images, video clips (where possible) and report online.

Please be aware that this scan does not include any growth measurements and does NOT include a full anomaly scan.
For a 4D pregnancy scan we aim for at least 3 video clips and 6 printed images. You will receive printed images (black & white) to take home and you will also have same day access to all your digital images, video clips and report online.
Up to three guests are allowed to accompany you for this pregnancy scan.
Please note that the quality of any 4D scan is dependent on baby’s position and placenta position. If we are unable to obtain good quality images due to baby’s position, we may offer you a rescan at a later date. If this is not possible for certain reasons such as gestational age, we may discuss alternative options with you.

A Fetal Anomaly scan is also routinely known as or referred to as the 20-week scan. This scan is offered from 19 to 24 weeks and is designed to check for a series of indicators that could indicate the presence of an abnormality in your pregnancy. This scan takes a detailed look at your baby’s development and assesses baby’s organs, skeleton, placenta and measurements. We recommend that you present your Anomaly Scan report to your appropriate healthcare provider. Please be aware anomaly screening cannot detect all possible conditions. Even if an ultrasound scan result suggests all findings are normal, we cannot guarantee the absence of abnormalities. After the scan you will receive a hard and digital copy of your scan report.
Providing baby is in a cooperating position (and at your request), we can offer a sneak peak of baby in 3D and 4D Imaging at the end of this examination.
